Here at Brownieland, we wanted to spotlight two initiatives that commemorate the month of May. Being that we celebrated Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month and Memorial Day, we are showcasing two great organizations that create real impact for both of these communities in Georgia and the greater Metro Atlanta area.
First, we spoke with our friends at the Shepherd Center, who gave us a first-hand account of the organization’s SHARE Military Initiative. This program directly offers focused and comprehensive rehabilitation for military service veterans, first responders, and their loved ones. They specialize in mild and moderate traumatic brain injuries and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Check out the full story for more.
Our monthly service project was also relevant to the month of May, as Open Hand Atlanta held a special event that serviced the Korean, Chinese, and Bhutanese refugees communities. As our dedicated followers might already know, food insecurity is an especially important issue for Brownieland, so we were honored to partner with such an exceptional organization that focuses on food distribution.
