Collaborations with Cox Campus: Oral Language is the Foundation for Literacy and other Free Structured Literacy Courses

Our ongoing collaboration with Cox Campus and the Atlanta Speech School is a constantly enriching experience, especially during National Make a Difference to Children Month no less. Creating free structured courses like Oral language is the Foundation for Literacy takes learning to the next level.

The Impact:

This course will equip all types of educators with the knowledge of the components of oral language, impacts on literacy, and strengthen oral language in the classroom.  Most importantly, teachers can take these tools in order to meet the needs of all students, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

What You’ll learn:

In completing the course, educators will be able to identify characteristics of a language-focused classroom environment.

This free, self-paced tool will also teach components of oral language, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and social communication. Moreover, learners will also learn classroom activities that promote the development of all components of oral language for children between Kindergarten to 3rd grade.

The Power of Professional Video:

We must empower our communities and students with the power of professional video which provides content that builds capacity for community organizations, public educators, and so many more. These videos are also easily deployed to reach wide audiences to create an everlasting impact.

Check out these tools and other free courses on Cox Campus, and share them with an educator you know and love today!
