Brownieland partners with the Atlanta Speech School to showcase “The Gift” of dual language learners

Dual language learners, or learners who think, read, and write in more than one language, are a large part of our school-aged population. One in 4 children under eight years old in the US is a dual language learner. But too often, they are not recognized for their gifts of language and culture that they bring to a classroom. Brownieland partnered with the Atlanta Speech School's Rollins Center for Language and Literacy to create a new video to help teachers and leaders recognize the gifts of dual language learners. The Atlanta Families Awards for Excellence in Education (AFAEE) has partnered with Brownieland Pictures for many years. In that time, we’ve celebrated with almost 50 winning educators, showing what it means to be excellent.
