World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is a global reminder of the ongoing fight to end human trafficking and support survivors in reclaiming their voices and futures. At Brownieland Pictures, we believe in the power of storytelling to uplift, inform, and inspire action. Today, we reflect on the work of two Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations we’ve proudly partnered with Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) and the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy (GCCA) whose missions are rooted in protecting and empowering vulnerable children, teens, and families.
Partnership Against Domestic Violence: Preventing Abuse and Empowering Survivors

Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) is Georgia’s largest nonprofit dedicated to ending intimate partner violence and supporting survivors. Since 1975, PADV has provided emergency shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, prevention programs, and long-term support for women, children, and teens throughout metro Atlanta. Because domestic violence and human trafficking are often interconnected forms of abuse, PADV plays a crucial role in combating trafficking by providing safe spaces, advocacy, and prevention education that empower survivors to break free from cycles of violence and exploitation.
Brownieland Pictures has collaborated with PADV over the years, working together to shine a light on the critical services they provide. Our partnership is highlighted in our Behind the Scenes blog series featuring PADV, which showcases their impactful work and outreach. One of our most meaningful collaborations was producing videos for PADV’s Hearts with Hope Gala in 2020, a vital fundraiser held virtually during the pandemic to raise awareness and critical funds amid rising intimate partner violence. Together, we aimed to amplify their message of hope and resilience during a challenging time for survivors and communities.
Beyond storytelling, Brownieland Pictures has lent a hand to PADV, supporting their mission through direct community engagement. Last month, the Brownieland Team served dinner to PADV clients as part of our June 2025 Volunteer Project, an experience that brought home the profound importance of PADV’s work during their 50th anniversary year. Volunteering with PADV is always a meaningful experience for us, something we started back in 2017 when we served dinner commemorating Brownieland’s 10th anniversary.
As PADV marks five decades of empowering survivors and preventing abuse, Brownieland Pictures is proud to stand alongside them partnering in storytelling and service to help build a future free from domestic violence and trafficking. If you would like to get involved, Partnership Against Domestic Violence offers a variety of ways to give back.
Georgia Center for Child Advocacy: Restoring Hope for Trafficked Youth

In recognition of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we’re honored to spotlight the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting victims of child abuse and working to prevent human trafficking and exploitation. Since opening its doors in 1987, GCCA has provided a safe haven for thousands of children and their families, offering trauma-informed services, training, and statewide prevention programs.
Brownieland Pictures was honored to support the GCCA not only through storytelling, but also through hands-on volunteerism. As part of the Envision Project, the Brownieland Team volunteered alongside the Junior League of Atlanta and GCCA staff to help deliver creative, therapeutic workshops to youth who have experienced human trafficking. The Envision Project offers specialized programming for trafficked youth, focusing on education, employment readiness, life skills, and personal growth. Participating in this effort gave us a deeper understanding of the complex challenges these young people face and the compassionate, comprehensive approach GCCA brings to their care
On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we proudly stand in continued support of the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and its mission to protect and empower children who have experienced abuse and exploitation. At Brownieland Pictures, we are honored to shine a light on organizations like GCCA that are actively working to end human trafficking through prevention, education, and healing. Together, we can build a world where every child feels safe, seen, and supported. Learn what you can do to make a difference with Georgia Center for Child Advocacy.
