Celebrating Women’s History Month: Brownieland Partners with Nonprofits to Amplify Women’s Voices

Brownieland Pictures Celebrates Women's History Month

March is Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. From trailblazing pioneers to modern-day changemakers, women have played a vital role in shaping industries, communities, and cultural narratives. At Brownieland Pictures we are dedicated to uplifting and amplifying women’s voices through our storytelling. Our commitment to working with nonprofit organizations that support women aligns perfectly with the spirit of this month, as we continue to highlight the incredible work of women-led initiatives and female-focused nonprofits.

As a woman-owned video production company, Brownieland Pictures is passionate about using storytelling to celebrate, uplift, and empower women’s voices. Recently featured in Shoutout Atlanta, Brownieland’s Robyn Kranz shared her journey from journalism to video production, highlighting how collaboration with nonprofits can drive engagement, raise awareness, and inspire action. In celebration of Women’s History Month, Brownieland had the privilege of speaking with another creative powerhouse, Sharon Feingold, a renowned voiceover actress who champions inclusivity in the audio industry. Sharon’s work, including her curated newsletter, fosters meaningful connections and amplifies underrepresented female voices in media. As women leading in creative fields, both Robyn and Sharon exemplify the impact of storytelling in building community and driving change.

Supporting Women-Owned Businesses in Atlanta

Women-owned businesses represent a significant force in the U.S. economy. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, these businesses generate approximately $2.1 trillion in annual receipts and employ about 11.4 million people. Additionally, Forbes reports that women-owned businesses generate $2.7 trillion in annual revenue and employ almost 12.2 million people.  These figures highlight the substantial economic impact of women entrepreneurs nationwide. Brownieland Pictures is honored to spotlight nonprofit organizations that provide essential resources, mentorship, and funding that help women-owned businesses thrive. As a woman-led company, we celebrate their contributions and continue to support their efforts through our work.

Partnering with ACE Women’s Business Center

Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing financial support, coaching, and connections to small businesses, with a special focus on women entrepreneurs. Brownieland Pictures partnered with ACE Loans to produce a video for their 15th Anniversary, showcasing their impact on the business community. ACE Women’s Business Center (WBC) provides a full range of services for women entrepreneurs at all planning, implementation, and growth stages. By helping women secure funding and business resources, ACE is empowering female entrepreneurs to turn their visions into reality.

Empowering Women Through Education at Agnes Scott College

For over a century, Agnes Scott College has provided women with a transformative education, encouraging them to think critically and lead with purpose. Brownieland Pictures collaborated with Agnes Scott to produce a video highlighting their summer institute, “Shakespeare and Digital Storytelling,” which blends literature with modern technology. By fostering intellectual growth and creative expression, Agnes Scott continues to shape the leaders of tomorrow.

Girls on the Run: Inspiring Confidence in Young Girls

Brownieland Pictures proudly supports Girls on the Run, a nonprofit that encourages young girls to build confidence and make healthy choices through running. An avid runner, Brownieland’s Robyn Kranz, volunteered as a coach with Girls On The Run Georgia, sharing her passion for fitness and self-empowerment. The program teaches essential life skills, fostering resilience and self-love in young girls as they grow into strong, confident women.

Here’s what Robyn had to say in 2018 about her experience volunteering with Girls On The Run Atlanta:

We are nearing the final weeks of volunteering with Girls On the Run (GOTR), and it has been such a rewarding experience. GOTR teaches the girls not only why fitness and health are essential throughout their lives, but it also teaches about loving yourself, being your own self-advocate, how vital relationships and good communication are and the list goes on and on. A program like Girls on the Run is extremely beneficial to every girl because the skills are so valuable to take through life. We ask the girls if they use the strategies from the meetings in their lives and every meeting, someone will raise their hand and share how they used something in a real-life situation.”

Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta: Driving Social Change

Brownieland Pictures was honored to produce videos for JWFA Impacts! 2024, celebrating the Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta’s commitment to advancing social change for Jewish women and girls. Through grant-making, advocacy, and educational initiatives, JWFA works to break down barriers and create opportunities for women. Our collaboration with JWFA reflects our dedication to using video as a tool for storytelling and positive transformation.

Making a Difference with the Junior League of Atlanta

The Junior League of Atlanta (JLA) is dedicated to transforming lives through volunteerism and leadership development. As past Co-Chair of Handmade by JLA, Robyn Kranz has led initiatives that provide essential items, such as blankets and hygiene kits, to those in need. Brownieland Pictures has also participated in JLA Serves, a weekend of impactful volunteer projects benefiting women and children in Atlanta. Our ongoing involvement with JLA reinforces our mission to support women-driven initiatives through action and storytelling.

During the pandemic, Robyn shared her experience with the Junior League of Atlanta:

I’ve been so lucky this crazy year to be able to give back to the community through my work with the Junior League of Atlanta. As the co-chair of the Handmade by JLA committee, we have continued to make masks for health compromised youth, blankets, scarves, hats and hygiene kits for homeless families, baby blankets for NICU babies, and provide a lot of love and support to those in need through our handmade items. Our committee has made and distributed over 1200 items this year to Atlanta nonprofits. I am so thankful that our work hasn’t stopped, and we can continue to make a difference.”

Volunteering with YWCA Greater Atlanta

As part of our commitment to supporting women-focused organizations, the Brownieland Pictures Team volunteered with YWCA Greater Atlanta. This organization has a long history of empowering women and families through advocacy, education, and economic empowerment. Reading to Pre-K children was a heartwarming experience, reinforcing our belief in the importance of early education and community support.
