The most effective action a person can take to increase a baby’s educational opportunities and future success is to talk with your baby every day.
Talk With Me Baby is a public action campaign aimed at coaching parents and caregivers on “Language Nutrition” – language sufficiently rich in engagement, quality, quantity and context that it nourishes the child neurologically, socially and linguistically.
The initiative was formed in 2013 through a partnership among the Marcus Autism Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, the Emory School of Medicine, Atlanta Speech School, the Get Georgia Reading Campaign, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Georgia Department of Education.
Brownieland Pictures partnered with the Atlanta Speech School to create the exciting new Talk With Me Baby course for teachers. This groundbreaking course, funded through a public health initiative in conjunction with private early education leaders, shows the power teachers have to coach parents on how to talk with their babies. The course is designed to use moments in the day to demonstrate techniques parents can use to grow language and reading development. We are so proud of this extraordinary course. Check it out!
