Summertime on the Mountain

Our mission at Brownieland Pictures is to empower nonprofits by expanding their reach and engaging communities through stories that inspire and motivate. We do this by partnering with nonprofits to create compelling videos that make a difference, and by giving our time through volunteer work. Robyn Ellis Kranz, Brownieland Pictures partner, has been volunteering at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park as a Mountain Top Greeter (MTG). Here are her thoughts about volunteering so far:

As the summer heats up, my volunteer time at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield National Park gets a little busier. We have more families making the trek up the mountain, which is so great to see. I had a wonderful conversation with a six-year-old boy as his aunt and uncle were getting in their work out. The deer are out in force, lots of fawns and their moms, and early in the morning, you can see them grazing in the woods. It’s such a treat getting to meet people, show them trails and maps, answer their questions, and spend time in the wild. I have taken for granted the history and beauty of Kennesaw Mountain, but it’s been gratifying rediscovering it. Come visit! Or better yet, do some volunteering of your own in our precious state and national parks.
