This year will mark Brownieland’s fourth year participating in the Atlanta Walk to Defeat ALSThrough education, support groups, and access to care and advocacy, the ALS Association of Georgia is working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS. Due to the pandemic, this year’s walk on Saturday, October 17th will be a little different. Yet, what remains the same is the ALS Association’s mission to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

Find out more about this year’s Atlanta Walk to Defeat ALS in our guest blog post written by the ALS Association of Georgia’s Executive Director, Sarah Embro.

The Walk to Defeat ALS is the hallmark event of the year for The ALS Association of Georgia.  It is an event that brings families and friends and supporters of the Association together to celebrate their loved ones living with ALS and remember those they have lost to ALS.  It is a day which brings hope that a cure will be found one day soon.

As 2020 has been a year like no other, so too is the Walk to Defeat ALS, as we move to a virtual event and encourage walkers and teams to “Walk Your Way.” On Saturday, October 17th, mini-walks will be occurring all over Georgia to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for ALS!

Now more than ever, every dollar really makes a difference!  Funds raised through the Walk to Defeat ALS provide much-needed services to families living with ALS right here in Georgia including support groups, loaned equipment, in-home care, and transportation access to name just a few.

We invite you to join Brownieland Pictures on October 17th and join us in “walking your way” to support The ALS Association of Georgia.  You can join us by registering HERE.

This year we will walk separately, but together for hope.  #ALSinThisTogether

The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting ALS on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
