Brownieland Collaborates with The Atlanta Speech School to Produce Coaching Videos for Cox Campus

Brownieland is honored to partner with The Atlanta Speech School over the years producing educational videos for various literacy programs. Recently, Comer Yates, Executive Director of The Atlanta Speech School, along with internationally renowned experts and thought leaders, Renée Boynton-Jarrett and Maryanne Wolf, wrote an essay about the year ahead called, “The Coming Literacy Crisis: There’s No Going Back to School as We Knew It.” Read this thought-provoking essay that explores what classrooms should look like in the 2021-22 school year and beyond.

This month, The Atlanta Speech School and Brownieland Pictures have collaborated once again to produce coaching lessons for the Rollins Center for Language & Literacy’s Cox Campus. This course has been specifically developed to help coaches support teachers and others to implement classroom practices that build a solid foundation for reading. Ultimately, there will be four coaching courses in all, with the full suite slated to be available late this year. Like John Wooden said, “A good coach can change a game, a great coach can change a life.” 

The Atlanta Speech School affects transformative change in the lives of children and adults through three preschools, a k-6 elementary school for children with dyslexia, a clinic offering therapeutic and academic language, literacy and learning services, and partnerships with other organizations. Across all programs, the goal of the Atlanta Speech School is to ensure that each child on campus and every child beyond the campus can acquire the language and literacy foundation necessary for self-determination. The Rollins Center for Language and Literacy partners with more than 100 public and private organizations to bring the Atlanta Speech School’s expertise in language and literacy to teachers across the nation. The Rollins Center for Language and Literacy’s Cox Campus is a professional development platform that offers free, research-based online courses for teachers, with the intent of eradicating illiteracy by freely distributing science-backed language and literacy instruction for adults who work with children from birth to third grade.
