For our June Volunteer Project, the Brownieland Team took part in Livable Buckhead’s inaugural Secret Gardens of PATH 400 volunteer event. Twenty small, themed secret gardens were created along PATH400 by the group of volunteers. The event attendees voted for the top three most creative gardens and we are excited to say that the Brownieland Team took 2nd place! This was incredibly meaningful to us as we are members of the Buckhead neighborhood and appreciate all that Livable Buckhead does for our community.

The mission of Livable Buckhead is to ensure the long term vitality and prosperity of the Buckhead community by integrating sustainable strategies that improve the environment and quality of life in the community. Located in North Atlanta, Buckhead includes a twenty square mile area that is a collection of single family homes surrounding a major business core comprising commercial office, dining, hospitality and shopping. Livable Buckhead was formed in 2011 as a nonprofit organization with a sustainability-focused mission aimed at building commuter alternative programs, taking responsibility for the implementation of an enormous greenspace mission, enhancing quality of life and developing environmentally responsible programs and projects in the community. We hope our experience inspires you to join Livable Buckhead for upcoming events, get involved with volunteer opportunities through Hands On Atlanta and sign up for their newsletter.
