Brownieland and Equal Opportunity Schools Partner for Progress

Brownieland Pictures is thrilled to announce our partnership with Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS)! EOS is committed to ensuring underserved and underrepresented students gain access to advanced courses, helping close the opportunity gap in education. With partnerships in over 250 school districts across 35 states—and growing—EOS is making a lasting difference. We’re excited to support their mission through powerful storytelling and amplify their impact through creative and meaningful video content. Together, we’re creating a brighter future for students everywhere.

Learn more about our partnership with Equal Opportunity Schools in this guest blog post by Anna Leigh Marquez, Partnership Director for EOS.

At Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS), our mission is to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have access to challenging academic opportunities. Through our partnership with school districts like Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) and Prince William County Schools (PWCS), we’ve been working on a transformative federal grant from the Department of Education called Action for Equity in History & Civics/Government (A4EHC/G). This initiative aims to expand access to Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History and U.S. Government courses, particularly for historically underserved students, by fostering Conditions of Belonging within the curriculum.

When it came to documenting and telling the story of our workshops and the impact they’re having, Brownieland has been an invaluable partner. Their team has effectively captured the heart and spirit of our participants, showcasing the meaningful connections and growth happening in our sessions. Their commitment to education and non-profit work shines through in every aspect of their business. They’re not just videographers; they’re storytellers who truly understand the importance of relationship-building and trust. This thoughtfulness is reflected in how they engage with our team and the educators we serve.

Our work with CMS and PWCS is just the beginning. Through the A4EHC/G grant, we’ve laid a strong foundation for creating more equitable access to AP courses, and the stories Brownieland helps us tell are vital in highlighting this progress. Moving forward, we plan to scale this model beyond these initial districts, making it a core part of EOS’s offerings. Post-grant, our aim is to continue supporting schools across the country in closing the AP equity gap, ensuring that every student feels a true sense of belonging in advanced academic settings.

Together with Brownieland, we’re not just capturing moments—we’re telling a story of change, equity, and the power of education. We’re excited about the journey ahead and the continued impact of this work.”
