For our June Volunteer Project, the Brownieland Team had the honor of volunteering with Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), Georgia’s largest domestic violence nonprofit organization. We had the pleasure of serving dinner to PADV clients, an experience that reminded us how vital their work is to the safety and healing of women, children, and teens in our community.
This volunteer opportunity was especially meaningful as PADV celebrates 50 years of service in 2025. For five decades, PADV has provided emergency intervention, violence prevention, and long term advocacy for survivors of intimate partner violence across metro Atlanta. Their impact is substantial: from operating two 24-hour emergency shelters with a combined 96 beds to offering legal advocacy, teen dating violence prevention programs, and supportive housing services, PADV continues to be a crucial ally for those in crisis.
Playing even a small role in supporting PADV’s mission to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors is an incredible honor for us. We encourage you to learn more about PADV’s wide reaching services and powerful stories of transformation here!
A Creative Partnership Over the Years
Brownieland Pictures has been fortunate to support PADV’s mission not only through volunteer efforts but also by helping tell their powerful story through video. In 2020, we partnered with PADV to produce videos for their Hearts with Hope Gala, the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. Held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the gala took place at a time when intimate partner violence was rising at alarming rates, driven by increased isolation and stress. Through this collaboration, we aimed to amplify PADV’s message, celebrate their impact, and help raise critical funds to support survivors.
In 2021, we featured PADV in our Brownieland Behind the Scenes series, highlighting Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Georgia has one of the highest teen dating violence rates in the country, and PADV works tirelessly to educate and advocate for youth. Through school programs, community outreach, and social media campaigns, they equip teens, parents, and educators with tools to recognize unhealthy relationships and take action. Their commitment to early intervention is helping to create a safer, more informed generation.
Our connection with PADV goes back even further. In 2017, as part of our #10in10 Campaign celebrating Brownieland’s 10th anniversary, our team served dinner to residents during Women’s History Month, an experience that left a lasting impression. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect directly with the women and children PADV supports and to witness the compassionate environment the organization creates. Moments like these remind us why we continue to prioritize partnerships with mission driven nonprofits.
Looking Ahead
As PADV continues its 50th year of service, we are proud to celebrate and support their powerful legacy of advocacy, safety, and healing. Whether through volunteering or creating meaningful videos, Brownieland Pictures is committed to amplifying their message and mission.
We hope our continued partnership with PADV inspires others to get involved and support their vital work. Whether it’s through a donation, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, there are many ways to make a difference.
