Brownieland Pictures is celebrating 10 years of partnering with nonprofit organizations to create emotionally compelling videos that make a difference!
Along with our #10in10 Volunteer Campaign, we are featuring the Best of Brownie series where we look back over the years and spotlight a client from each year to see how they are doing today.
In honor of their annual UBSLC Conference happening this month, we are featuring a project we created 10 years ago in partnership with the Emory Goizueta Business School.
We caught up with Lauren Whipple, who worked closely with Brownieland Pictures on this project, to talk about how the video impacted the institution.
Tell us a little bit about the project Brownieland Pictures produced for you 10 years ago:
As a world-class business institution, Emory’s Goizueta Business School competes for the top MBA students in the country. Admitted students come to “Welcome Weekend” each year, the premiere on-campus event where they get to know the staff and students and decide if Goizueta is right for them. We knew that a video could capture the spirit of our students, their passion for the school and what makes it special. It was a great way to open the weekend event.
How did you feel video could best capture the message you were trying to convey in the project?
Choosing an MBA is not only about rankings, it’s about emotion and how the environment makes you feel. The experiences of the students, told firsthand through video, are the most effective way to communicate that message on a mass scale.
What did you hope the impact of the video project would be?
We hoped it would convince admitted students to choose Goizueta as their MBA graduate program. It made a huge impact.
What advantages did you find in working with Brownieland Pictures, a company focused on nonprofits?
As Brownieland’s first nonprofit client, I appreciated that they knew how to produce high quality work within a tight budget. Robyn and Randy allowed me to be hands-on and were such fun to work with! I always looked forward to filming days spent with them!
What are you up to now?
I am now Director of Channel Marketing for Purchasing Power, an employee benefit that powers people to a better life by allowing them access to credit to buy items they need through payroll deduction.
