Last year, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary with the Brownieland Pictures #10in10 Volunteer Campaign, where the Brownieland Team volunteered with a different nonprofit organization each month for ten months. On December 8th, National Brownie Day, one of those nonprofits was randomly selected to receive a free one-minute video on us as a gift for the incredible work they do with the community!
The winner of our 2017 #10in10 Volunteer Campaign was Literacy Action, the Southeast’s oldest and largest nonprofit of adult literacy. This year, Literacy Action was chosen as Dragon Con’s Official Charity, and we just wrapped production of their video in time for the big Dragon Con weekend in Atlanta, along with Literacy Action’s special event honoring their 50th Anniversary.
Congratulations again to Literacy Action and keep up the amazing work you are doing for Atlanta for another 50 years and beyond!
Literacy Action’s mission is to build better futures for undereducated adults by teaching literacy, along with life and work skills, which will empower them to reach their highest potential.
Literacy Action was founded by volunteers in 1968. They provide free classes to adults who want to learn to read, write and improve their basic skills so they can build better lives for themselves and their families. As a leader in adult literacy, Literacy Action offers a broad spectrum of opportunities for students to achieve regardless of their location, education, or goals. Literacy Action’s support extends beyond solely academics as they encourage and help to foster workplace, workforce and family literacy. Find out more about this important organization HERE.
