In honor of Adopt-A-Dog Month, the Brownieland Team volunteered with Second Life Atlanta, a nonprofit organization with a lot of heart helping pets find loving homes in the community.

Second Life Atlanta’s mission is to provide cash donations to animal rescue organizations with the purpose of reducing pet overpopulation through adoption, spay/neuter programs and education/awareness. Volunteering with Second Life Atlanta offers many opportunities to support this incredible organization that has given over one million dollars in grants to animal charities. You can volunteer at one of their stores, at community events and festivals, or from home utilizing expertise in marketing, grant writing, administrative and more. While volunteering with Second Life Atlanta, we met so many wonderful people who love volunteering in the stores and come back to help out on a regular basis. Volunteers are the heart of the organization, and you can make a difference with just a few hours a week or month.

Inspired by their rescue Dalmatian, Lucky, the organization was created by owners, Tanya and Toby, with the idea of combining a love of rescue animals and bargain shopping. It was a dream realized and has been supported by their community and pet lovers ever since! You can support Second Life Atlanta by donating, volunteering, or shopping at their upscale thrift stores benefiting homeless pets. You can even meet some of the pets who need adopting while they make themselves at home at the stores and at events they hold in the parking lot.
