It has been a fantastic year for Brownieland! We had the opportunity to work with some incredible nonprofits creating videos that connect their mission with the community inspiring people to participate, to give and to spread the word. The partnerships that we build with nonprofits are our heart and soul, and we look forward to another wonderful year of working together to tell their Stories for the Greater Good!

JANUARY

Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta: Ignite

Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta (JWFA) expands opportunities for Jewish women and girls through effective grant-making, advocacy, and education. Watch the video we produced in partnership with JWFA to find out more about the incredible efforts of the Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta!

Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs

Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) is a nonprofit organization that provides low-interest loans and business development resources to small businesses and entrepreneurs allowing them to finance their dreams of becoming business owners. Brownieland produced a video in partnership with ACE to celebrate their milestones and to showcase some of their hard-working clients.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta: Thank You

Touching the lives of so many members of the community is a speciality of Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA). The mission of JFGA is to engage, care for, connect, and strengthen the Greater Atlanta Jewish community for the benefit of the people. The amazing network of partners they work with to reach everyone is inspiring.

Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College: A Celebration of 130 Years of Liberal Arts at Georgia Tech

The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Alumni Awards celebrate excellence in the College community by honoring outstanding graduates of the College, current undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty, as well as friends and supporters. Brownieland Pictures continued our long-standing partnership with Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts by producing a video for the Distinguished Alumni Awards: A Celebration of 130 Years of Liberal Arts at Georgia Tech.

APRIL

Atlanta Speech School: Montage Lecture Series

In 2016, Atlanta Speech School’s Rollins Center for Language and Literacy launched Every Opportunity, a video that Brownieland produced in partnership with the Atlanta Speech School that has spoken to nearly 100 million viewers about the importance of empowering a child’s voice. Five Atlanta public schools answered the call by deciding Enough is Enough and this is the story of one of those schools: Usher-Collier Elementary. Watch to find out about their incredible journey!

Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education (AFAEE): 2018 Awards

Brownieland Pictures partnered with Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education (AFAEE) for another year of honoring exceptional educators. We had the opportunity to meet 7 of the best and brightest educators that Georgia has to offer and to tell their stories, featured in this video.

JUNE

Atlanta Speech School & Read Right from the Start: Build My Brain

Brownieland’s partnership with the Atlanta Speech School’s Rollins Center for Language and Literacy continues with the release of the Build My Brain course on Read Right from the Start’s Cox Campus. The Build My Brain course is a partnership with agencies throughout the state, and Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child, to help teach all groups that work with children how to communicate with them to build their reading brains. To learn more, check out readrightfromthestart.org and click on the Build My Brain video course.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta: 2018 Awards

Honoring outstanding members of the community is a feature of Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s annual meeting. Brownieland had the opportunity for the third year in a row to meet these generous individuals and capture their stories. AUGUST

Georgia Tech Graduate Studies

Georgia Tech Graduate Studies helps graduate students at Georgia Tech navigate the campus and understand the requirements of being a grad student. Brownieland was thrilled to work with the amazing team at Graduate Studies to create a series of nine videos to help grad students focus on what’s important. From learning about campus transportation to finding out how to fund your education, grad students can get the scoop from these offbeat videos that make learning about the campus fun!

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta: Pillars

Being all things to a community is a challenge. Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA) is working to be a source for the community to rely on for culture, tradition, and innovation in Jewish Atlanta. Brownieland partnered again with JFGA to create a video that showcases all the work Federation does to help serve Atlanta. We also highlight their commitment to the agencies they partner with to continue to grow resources and build the community into the future.

SEPTEMBER

Literacy Action: 50th Anniversary

Last year, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary with the Brownieland Pictures #10in10 Volunteer Campaign, where the Brownieland Team volunteered with a different nonprofit organization each month for ten months. On December 8th, National Brownie Day, one of those nonprofits was randomly selected to receive a free one-minute video on us as a gift for the incredible work they do with the community!

The winner of our 2017 #10in10 Volunteer Campaign was Literacy Action, the Southeast’s oldest and largest nonprofit of adult literacy. This year, Literacy Action was chosen as Dragon Con’s Official Charity, and we just wrapped production of their video in time for the big Dragon Con weekend in Atlanta, along with Literacy Action’s special event honoring their 50th Anniversary.

OCTOBER

Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS): Summit Video 2018

The importance of quality early childhood education is the focus of GEEARS, Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students. Recently, GEEARS held a gubernatorial summit on early education and they asked Brownieland to create a video that shared the voices of parents in Georgia talking about what was important in their child’s early educational experience. We partnered with Sheltering Arms and Druid Hills Child Development Center to capture some amazing parents, educators, and children, helping to further advance Georgia’s early childhood education.

The Walker School: The Wonder of Walker

Creating a learning environment where children can thrive is the goal of any school, and The Walker School is no exception. Brownieland partnered with the incredible students and faculty at The Walker School to create “The Wonder of Walker,” which focuses on how amazing the experience is at the school and how it helps support every child to grow and wonder, never losing that enthusiasm to learn. Watch the video to find out more about The Walker School.

Atlanta Speech School & PNC Bank: Reading with Children as a Classroom Volunteer

Volunteering to read to a class of children can be a little daunting. You want to make sure you’re having an impact. So what’s the best strategy? Brownieland partnered with the Atlanta Speech School and PNC Bank to create a video to help volunteers learn how to read to children. Easy tips and real-life testimonials from classroom readers allow you to get the information you need to make a difference. Watch the video to find out more!
