Brownieland Goes Worldwide!

Recently, our work with the Atlanta Speech School received a very prestigious audience. Early childhood center CEOs from China were shown our “Every Opportunity” and “The Promise” videos which we created with the Atlanta Speech School. The videos had Chinese subtitles added and had the audience members in tears, realizing the importance of the message. Thanks to Walter Gilliam and the Ziegler Child Development Center at Yale University for sharing our work with the world. Check out the videos below.

Brownieland Pictures partnered with the Atlanta Speech School to create the video, “Every Opportunity,” back when they launched their K-3 content for the Read Right from the Start website. The video features a child who goes through his day being ignored, yelled at, and silenced. The video shows damage that is caused by this behavior and how taking the time to engage with children every day at every opportunity can reverse it. The video, picked up by The Huffington Post, the AJC and CNN’s Weekend Express HLN, went viral! We were humbled by the success of this piece and how it has resonated with people. We hope everyone gets a chance to see the video as it can make a difference in the lives of all our children, parents, and educators.

“The Promise,” is a video Brownieland Pictures produced in partnership with the Atlanta Speech School and was shown at a White House conference on education, showcasing children asking the viewer to make a promise that will forever shape their lives.

The Atlanta Speech School is the nation’s most comprehensive language center for children and adults. Established in 1938, the Atlanta Speech School’s four schools, five clinics, summer program, and professional development center seek to help each person develop his or her full potential through language and literacy. Each year, the School impacts the lives of approximately 1,400 children and adults at the Atlanta Speech School and more than 13,000 students throughout the State of Georgia through the work of its Rollins Center for Language & Learning professional development program.
