Brownieland July Volunteer Project with the Junior League of Atlanta and FOCUS

Brownieland’s Robyn Kranz lent a helping hand this month through her work with the Junior League of Atlanta in support of Atlanta nonprofit organization, Families of Children Under Stress (FOCUS). The mission of FOCUS is to embrace and equip families of children with disabilities to make everyday life better. Here’s what Robyn had to say about her work sewing masks and knitting hats for this incredible nonprofit organization.

With the impact of COVID on our communities, volunteering efforts have changed. Working with teams to help those in need has become more challenging. But the need continues. Whether you are helping to fill food bags socially distanced or read stories virtually to children, there is always some way to give. As part of the Junior League of Atlanta, I have been able to help with mask sewing for children and adults. This month we have a team of women who are creating masks for FOCUS, an organization in Atlanta that helps families with children who are fragile or have disabilities be equipped for everyday life. Giving back to your community in any way you feel comfortable now helps everyone stay grounded. Look for the opportunities and make a difference if you can. We truly are all in this together.

Families of Children Under Stress (FOCUS) is a nonprofit organization that helps children who are medically fragile or have significant developmental and/or physical disabilities. Through the years, FOCUS has grown to offer comfort and hope to parents and fun programs for children with disabilities.
