Brownieland Pictures August Volunteer Project with Grady, Open Hand Atlanta & the Atlanta Community Food Bank

In 2017, Grady established the Food as Medicine (FAM) partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Open Hand Atlanta to bridge the critical gap between health and nutrition by ensuring patients and families of Grady Health System have access to healthy, affordable foods. Through this partnership, Grady has opened a FAM Center at Grady Memorial Hospital which includes a Food Pharmacy, Teaching Kitchen, and Farmers Market. The Brownieland Team was excited to be a part of this partnership by volunteering at the bimonthly Fresh Food Cart, an extension of the FAM initiative, located at the Grady Brookhaven Health Center. Volunteers sorted, packed, and distributed food that went directly to Grady patients. Find out more about this recurring volunteer opportunity HERE.
