Brownieland Celebrates Earth Day Every Day

For our April Volunteer Project, Brownieland‘s Robyn Kranz shares some insightful words on how we can celebrate Earth Day every day!

Earth Day is April 22nd, and every year, I really try to stop and think about the planet. How am I harming the earth? What can I do better for the generations to come? It’s a question each of us needs to ask ourselves, not just on Earth Day, but really, every day. Every month Brownieland participates in a volunteer project to give back to our community, and we have met some amazing people in incredible organizations making a huge difference. This month, for Earth Day, we looked inward and tried to determine how every day, we can make a change. I hiked Kennesaw Mountain and picked up trash along the trail. It was such a simple thing, but it made a difference. I use a reusable water bottle when I hike or work out, and again, that tiny action makes a ripple effect. We encourage you to reflect this Earth Day and see if there’s one small change you can make to help Mother Earth every day. Our planet deserves your kindness.

The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) facility is a premier program of the nonprofit, Live Thrive. It is a permanent drop-off facility that aims to improve our environmental health by encouraging reuse and diverting thousands of pounds of household hazardous waste and other hard-to-recycle items from Metro-Atlanta landfills and water systems.
