At Brownieland Pictures, we have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire change, and we are honored to continue our partnership with Second Helpings Atlanta (SHA) to help amplify their impact through video. Our collaboration with SHA over the years has allowed us to witness firsthand the incredible work they do to reduce hunger and food waste across Metro Atlanta.
A Milestone Celebration: Full Plates, Full Hearts
Brownieland Pictures was thrilled to produce the videos for SHA’s signature fundraising event, Full Plates, Full Hearts, which raised over $625,000 to support their mission. This unforgettable evening, presented by Delta Air Lines and held at the Delta 360 SkyClub at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 10, 2025, celebrated Second Helpings Atlanta’s 20th anniversary and honored Bill Bolling, founder of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, for his lifelong dedication to food security and community building. As the official food rescue partner of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, SHA has rescued over 198,430 pounds of surplus food from Falcons and Atlanta United games, concerts, and private events.
We were honored to create the event’s videos, helping to share SHA’s powerful story and showcase the incredible impact of their work. Seeing our work contribute to such a meaningful cause was truly rewarding, and we are grateful for the opportunity to use video storytelling to help make a difference.
A Mission That Matters
Second Helpings Atlanta is a nonprofit food rescue organization with a mission to fight food insecurity while minimizing food waste. By rescuing surplus, healthy food from donors and delivering it to partner agencies that feed those in need, SHA serves as a crucial link in Atlanta’s hunger relief network. Over the years, Brownieland has had the privilege of supporting SHA’s mission, including participating in their Food Rescue Driver program. In 2019, we helped rescue over 100 pounds of baked goods, delivering them to agencies that distribute food to those who need it most.
Volunteers at the Heart of SHA
SHA’s impact is powered by its dedicated volunteers. With a network of over 300 volunteers, they successfully divert food from landfills and distribute it where it’s needed most. From driving food rescue routes to assembling and packing food donations, there are countless ways for individuals to get involved. Even a $5 donation helps SHA rescue and deliver over 24 pounds of food—enough for more than 20 meals.
How You Can Support SHA
Whether by volunteering, donating, or attending events like Full Plates, Full Hearts, there are many ways to support SHA’s mission. Every effort brings us closer to a future where food insecurity is a thing of the past. At Brownieland, we are proud of our continued partnership with SHA and look forward to sharing more of their impactful stories through video.
Together, we can help SHA continue to “Drive Out Hunger One Mile at a Time.”
