In honor of Women’s History Month, we are spotlighting some remarkable Atlanta nonprofits dedicated to supporting and empowering women. As a woman-owned business, Brownieland not only celebrates the achievements of women but also advocates for gender equality. One of the driving forces behind our commitment to uplifting women is Robyn, our co-founder, whose dedication to volunteerism has made a profound impact on the lives of girls in our community. Robyn’s journey began with her experiences in the Brownies and Girl Scouts, where she learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and service to others. Building on this foundation, she became a volunteer coach with Girls On The Run, inspiring young girls to embrace their strengths and realize their full potential.
At Brownieland, we are honored to collaborate with a diverse range of Atlanta organizations that share our vision for empowering women. Together, we can continue to make strides towards a more equitable and inclusive world for all. Here are just a few of the incredible nonprofits we have had the opportunity to work with:
Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta
Currently, Brownieland is filming with the Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta, an organization that addresses gender inequality in the Jewish community. Take a look at a video Brownieland produced in partnership with JWFA sharing their mission to promote social change and expand positive opportunities for Jewish women and girls. Find out how to get involved with JWFA here.
Junior League of Atlanta
The Junior League of Atlanta is an organization of women committed to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Robyn is an active member of the JLA, and Brownieland has volunteered with their ongoing initiatives, including the Handmade by JLA program, which supports local artisans and entrepreneurs. Whether it be serving dinner at the Agape Youth and Family Center through the Junior League of Atlanta’s JLA Serves program, volunteering at JLA’s partner, Georgia Radio Reading Service, or going the extra mile for literacy as part of JLA’s Literacy Walk, Brownieland is always ready to lend a hand to the Junior League of Atlanta’s incredible programs that support women in our community.
Motherhood Beyond Bars

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let us not forget the women who are often overlooked or marginalized, including those who are incarcerated. Motherhood Beyond Bars is an organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for incarcerated mothers, recognizing their humanity and inherent worth. Brownieland partnered with MBB writing letters to incarcerated mothers for our Quilted Together Project. Learn more about Motherhood Beyond Bars here.
Atlanta Women’s Foundation
The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) provides funding, resources, and evaluation support to nonprofits that offer programs for low-income women and girls to break the cycle of poverty. AWF also provides leadership development through its Women on Board nonprofit training workshops and Inspire Atlanta. The Atlanta Women’s Foundation prepares women to be thoughtful, well-informed, philanthropic leaders who understand the unique issues women and girls face locally. Brownieland was privileged to help further their cause and work with their incredible honorees in this video we produced together for the Sue Weiland Awards.
ACE Women’s Business Center
Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) is a Georgia-based nonprofit organization specializing in growing small businesses with capital, coaching, and connections providing community economic development to underserved people and communities. ACE helps businesses that may be considered high risk and less profitable by traditional financial institutions. ACE Women’s Business Center (WBC) provides a full range of services for women entrepreneurs at all planning, implementation, and growth stages. Brownieland was honored to partner with ACE on their 15th Anniversary video showcasing successful clients. Find out more about this program here and how you can get involved here.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s essential to reflect on the profound impact women have had throughout history and the ongoing journey towards gender equality. Volunteering in honor of Women’s History Month is a meaningful way to pay tribute to the legacies of those who came before us and support the ongoing struggle for women’s rights. Whether mentoring young girls, advocating for gender parity, or supporting organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment, each act of service contributes to a brighter, more equitable future for all. This March, let’s pay tribute to the resilience, strength, and achievements of women everywhere by committing to make a difference in our communities and beyond.
