Brownieland Volunteers with Girls on the Run

The volunteer work that Brownieland Pictures participated in last year for our 10th Anniversary was an inspirational starting point. Seeing the need to lend a hand to so many causes in our community inspired us to carry on volunteer work into our personal lives. We learned that no matter where your passion to give back lies, there is someone in need that could use your help.

Brownieland’s Robyn Kranz is starting off the year as a volunteer coach for Girls On The Run. This organization fosters a lifelong love of health and fitness and supports girls by teaching them to love who they are and to be powerful in their own skin. On a personal note, Robyn has been an athlete from a very young age and she credits sports for giving her the confidence and self-acceptance that has been a constant her whole life. Robyn knows how important sports can be for young girls and she is so excited to share her passion for running and her passion for helping girls in the service of such an incredible organization.

We will keep you posted on Robyn’s progress! In the meantime, we invite you to find a cause that you’re passionate about and lend a hand. Share those causes with us and tell us why you volunteer. We’d love to know more about what inspires you. Happy 2018!

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. GOTR offers a life changing, experiential learning program that combines training for a 5k with character building and self-esteem enhancing activities. The program objective is to reduce the display of at-risk behaviors among participants by providing the girls with the tools to make healthy decisions and form positive self-images. GOTR serves girls in 3rd to 8th grades in Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb and Gwinnett. Approximately 52% of participants receive a full or partial scholarship. GOTR is proud to have never turned a girl away because of her family’s financial status. Nationally, there are 200+ councils in all 50 U.S. states using the same curriculum and program structure. Girls in Title 1 schools can participate on full scholarship and receive the program, 5k registration (for the participant & family member) as well as a pair of running shoes. Spring registration closes on February 14th. Find a location near you HERE and learn more about Girls on the Run HERE.
