For our May Volunteer Project, the Brownieland Team volunteered with the ALS Association of Georgia in honor of ALS Awareness Month. We volunteered in their Atlanta office assisting with mailings to people who support the fight against ALS. As the ALS Association pursues treatments and cures for this disease, there are many ways that you can get involved through volunteering, advocacy, donations, corporate partnerships and fundraising. You can also join us in September for the Walk to Defeat ALS!
This year, the Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on September 8th at the Georgia World Congress Center. Participation in the Walk has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, the ALS Association of Georgia is working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families. Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS. Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
