We just wrapped up the first five video courses for Read Right from the Start’s Cox Campus in time for K-3rd grade teachers to be ready for their children on the first day of school. Atlanta Speech School’s Rollins Center for Language and Literacy has partnered with Brownieland for years to create online learning for educators of birth through 5-year-olds. Now, coursework has been added for K-3rd teachers. The Cox Campus also reached a recent milestone with over 40,000 users worldwide! Atlanta Speech School’s Rollins Center for Language and Literacy has been training teachers of children birth to third grade for over a decade. Their professional development program uses a synthesis of the nation’s best research on how to build a child’s language, vocabulary, critical thinking skills and comprehension, and offers ongoing mentoring and coaching. The Rollins Center is particularly focused on helping teachers of children of generational lack of access to educational opportunities with the greatest risk of illiteracy. They offer both onsite courses as well as online courses available at no charge through Read Right from the Start’s Cox Campus portal.
Read Right from the Start’s Cox Campus offers free, video-based courses and resources for early education teachers and others in the critical path of children and families. These courses are based on proven language and literacy practices that teachers can immediately use with their children.
