Brownieland Behind the Scenes Featuring Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta

For our July Brownieland Pictures Behind the Scenes, we are showcasing Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that transforms Jewish values into tangible deeds.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s mission is to care for, connect, and strengthen the Jewish community throughout Greater Atlanta, Israel, and the world. The vision of Federation is a thriving and connected 21st Century Jewish Atlanta where every Jew and their loved ones can access a warm and caring Jewish community, timeless Jewish wisdom, global Jewish peoplehood, and Jewish ways to do good in the world. Federation values compassion, diversity, generosity, and commitment to Jewish values and people worldwide and offers a wide range of programs that support disabilities, aging well, health and finance, well-being, engagement, community-wide education, and leadership development. Federation welcomes all interfaith, LGBT+, and multiracial individuals and families, along with people of all abilities.

Tree of Life

Brownieland is honored to have partnered with Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA) over the years! The importance of sustaining a community through support is nowhere made more apparent than with JFGA. Back in 2016, we collaborated with Federation to produce Tree of Life. This video showcases the amazing ways that giving to JFGA changes lives and strengthens communities in Atlanta and around the world. Watch the video below to learn more!

Overnight Camp

The Jewish Camp Initiative inspires families to choose Jewish overnight camp for their children, increasing the likelihood that they will continue to live active Jewish lives. Federation believes that Jewish overnight camp is an experience every kid should have! With summer break coming to a close, it’s the perfect time to showcase Overnight Camp; a video Brownieland produced in partnership with Federation to help raise funds and awareness for summer camps for Jewish children. Using a fun Person-On-The-Street approach, we talked about all the lifelong benefits and incredible experiences children have when they spend a summer at camp!

Connections

The interconnectedness of the Jewish community in Atlanta helps all of its members to thrive. Learning about the depth of services and the partner organizations that make up Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is incredibly rewarding. Back in 2017, Brownieland partnered with Federation once again to produce Connections, a video recognizing the incredible partners, donors and volunteers who make up Federation. It was an honor getting to know these outstanding organizations making a difference in so many lives through the generous donations of the community!

2017 Annual Awards

Going above and beyond for the community comes naturally for some people. Each year Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta hosts its Annual Awards, where they honor exceptional community professionals and volunteers for the great work they do to strengthen Jewish Atlanta. Awards are given in five categories: The Abe Schwartz Young Leadership Award, The Gerald H. Cohen Community Development Award, The Marilyn Shubin Professional Staff Development Award, The Mary and Max London People Power Award, and The Tikkun Olam/Community Impact Award.

Thank You

Touching the lives of a wide range of members of the community is a specialty of JFGA. Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is the only organization where you can care for Jews in need and build a strong Jewish community in Atlanta and worldwide in one single gift. The amazing network of partners they work with to reach everyone in the community is inspiring. JFGA offers a wide range of programs that support disabilities, aging well, health and finance, well-being, engagement, community-wide education, and leadership development. Federation evaluates changing needs and measures program performance to ensure fiscal responsibility. It’s a lot of work with tremendous impact!

2020 Annual Awards

In 2020, when the world turned upside down, the Atlanta Jewish community weathered the storm together, moving forward and stepping up to meet the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic year. Brownieland Pictures was honored once again to create videos showcasing the Federation’s Annual Community Awards winners. Since the event was virtual, we worked together over Zoom, capturing the history of the awards with the families who created them. Sharing the stories of why the awards were made and what they have meant to the community was a wonderful way to learn about the dedicated people who have given so much to Atlanta. Congratulations again to all of the winners!

The Gerald H. Cohen Community Development Award is presented to an outstanding individual who is not a native of Atlanta and has lived in the community for less than seven years. The award recognizes exemplary levels of community engagement for newer members of the community.

The Abe Schwartz Young Leadership Award is presented to an outstanding individual under the age of forty, demonstrating a considerable level of involvement in the Jewish community and significant leadership potential.
