Last year, Brownieland Pictures celebrated our 10-year anniversary by volunteering with a different Atlanta nonprofit each month through our #10in10 Volunteer Campaign. We wanted to give back to these incredible organizations that help their communities. The organizations we volunteered with last year made such an impact on us that we decided to check back in with them to find out what’s new in 2018.
In honor of Give Something Away Day last year, the Brownieland Team volunteered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank on their grocery floor. You can find out more about our volunteer experience HERE. We checked in with ACFB to find out what’s happening with this incredible nonprofit.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank has been busy this year! In May, ACFB partnered with the National Association of Letter Carriers for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the country’s largest single-day food drive. In June, ACFG kicked off their Summer Meals program in McDonough and partnered with Gwinnett County Public Schools to provide nutritious snacks for students over summer break.
Coming up in September, the Atlanta Community Food Bank will hold its fifth annual Fall For Fashion event where Atlanta’s most fashionable come together to fight hunger in honor of Hunger Action Month. Fall For Fashion will be held on September 23rd from 7-9 pm at Tootsies, the year’s Presenting Sponsor, at the Buckhead Exchange on Peachtree Road. Proceeds from the show and live auction will support the Food Bank’s hunger-relief efforts for working families, seniors, and children. Find out more about this wonderful event HERE.
The mission of the Atlanta Community Food Bank is to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering our community. Through their network of partner nonprofits, they provide nearly 58 million meals for more than 755,000 people each year. It takes lots of food, people, and big ideas to guarantee that the community has the food they need for a healthy life. The goal of the Atlanta Community Food Bank is that by 2025 everyone in their service area will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them.
