Brownieland is proud to have volunteered with Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) Atlanta and to experience firsthand the incredible work they do. This year PADV Atlanta is putting on events to help advance their mission to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors. We hope you can join PADV to create the possibility of a better tomorrow for abuse victims.
On February 15th, PADV will host its 5th annual Women in Action Forum in Gwinnett County at The River Club. This incredibly moving event aims to bring women together each year to learn about the impact of domestic violence in our communities and hear inspiring testimony from survivors. This year, the theme is “The Pulse Behind the Purpose” and will highlight the incredible work being done by advocates to provide safety, support and hope to those fleeing intimate partner violence. In addition to the program, guests will have the opportunity to explore The River Club as they shop from the numerous vendors who will be present enticing guests with everything from handmade jewelry, crafts, spa packages, and professional services. All proceeds from the event will benefit PADV’s Gwinnett safe house.
On March 2nd, PADV will celebrate yet another anticipated event: it’s 10th annual Teen Summit. This event does not disappoint with tons of excitement, incredible discussion and over 300 teens coming together! Both youth and adults are welcome to join this free event for a half day of workshops and open discussion on teen dating violence. Georgia ranks 3rd in the nation for teen dating violence, and PADV works year-round with its Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program to educate teens and parents about the dangers of teen dating violence, but also the ways that we can prevent it. During the annual Teen Summit, guests can expect to hear from teen presenters, youth organizations and adults who are working to promote awareness and empower youth to take action and make an impact in their own communities. The Teen Summit will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from 10am-3pm at Decatur High School.
Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) is the first and largest nonprofit domestic violence agency in the state of Georgia. PADV works to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors.
